Webb is sinking like a stone in VA!!!
As the votes roll in -- now at 52%, Webb is sinking like a stone! Allen up by 3% and climbing rapidly. This is insane!!!! This is 2004 all over again!!!!

Perhaps Johnny Reb considers an ex Republican moderate as a liberal.

I don't think being up by 3% so early in the evening is equivalent to Webb "sinking like a stone."

24. Loudoun and Prince William haven't come in yet...
Webb slightly ahead in Loudoun, Allen slightly ahead in Prince William with only 3% counted. These were two counties that put Kaine over the edge.

16. The big Northern VA suburbs aren't in yet--
they'll be the last ones counted (more voters, more precincts), and they'll determine the outcome. Webb should do well there, so if he keeps it close in the rural parts of the state, that's good news.

18. Even if we don't win control of the Senate
it looks like we will still pick up some Senate seats tonight, which will make it harder for Bush's extremist judicial nominees to get confirmed. Still, it would be pretty sweet if we got control of the Senate as well! It's not over yet..

25. ?
Where does one find out where these votes came from? Everyone is claiming that they are from one section or another of the Commonwealth, but the SBE site says that there is no way to know.

38. I said it earlier today...

I expect Webb to lose...he'll keep it close, but he'll lose. This is freaking Virginia...unless we get 95% turnout in Nortern Virginia, some areas of the coast, and Richmond we can't beat the neo-Confederates that live here. If Webb wins, it will be a major miracle.

I think Ford in TN will lose as well....Not doom and gloom, just trying to be objective.

I'm getting my info from the VA official website: http://sbe.virginiainteractive.org/index.htm

Now, they list the precincts that have come in. But I don't know what those are, or which areas haven't reported. Can someone lend a hand here? Any Virginians out there?

45. I'm mad because I guess I got sucked in by those "early exit polls" again
They show Webb is supposed to win by 5%. He's down by 2%. It's bringing up the shock of 2004 all over again for me.

So -- are the exit polls completely bogus, or are we getting ripped off right in front of our eyes in VA?

As others have noted, NVA will be reporting later than the southern and rural districts. Chill. We all knew this was going to be very, very close. We may well not know the winner until tomorrow.
