I was skeptical of Dr. Deans 50 State Strategy |
|
I knew it sounded good. But I never thought it could be pulled off. I admit it. I was wrong. Way wrong. So were a lot of "political experts" so I don't feel too bad.
Dean for President in 2008.

6. This isn't really the 50 state strategy. |
|
Look, it IS a great idea on the face of it, but neither the DNC nor any group has the money and time to compete properly in all races. You HAVE to prioritize races, and they did. A lot of these competitive races didn't get help from the DNC, DCCC, anybody like that. This wave is the result of voter motivation, some good candidates in the right place, and the repeated self-mutilation of the Republican party.

Dean is smarter than Rove. That's not hyperbole, that's the truth. I appreciate your generous comments toward Dean. :hi:

11. I didn't think we would see positive results from this strategy 'till 2008 |
|
As a Texan, I fully agree with not ignoring the states that may seem hopeless right now but I honestly didn't think the strategy would work this fast.

12. I admire your posts Don. |
|
But I respectfully disagree with your notion of Prez in 2008. We need him as the Democratic conscience for years beyond that. No distractions.
Though, I do believe that he would be one tough candidate.

21. Bear in mind, this strategy is designed to be a long-term thing. . . |
|
and while we'll see some fruits out of this effort sooner rather than later, there is still a lot of work ahead of us.
The Deep South states will most likely be the last to give up Republican control. For now, our best chances for flipping Republican strongholds are in the Midwest, Mountain West and Southwest. IOW, we counter the Republican "Southern Strategy" with a "Go West" strategy.
