About a third of evangelicals crossed over and voted for Democrats today.

I've said for four years that Democrats can and should make inroads with the evangelicals. While Democrats may be uncomfortable with many of the evangelicals' ideals, they still stand up for them as employees of WalMart. Democracts won't offer the evangelicals everthing they want on social issues, but Democrats can tell them that if they win, they will make like better and easier for the evangelicals and their traditonal families. The Republicans offer them nothing at all in that respect.

The Democrats never needed to get every evangelical vote to win. It wasn't going to take that many to turn a few red states blue. Look at what we did today just picking up a third of them.

We should not betray these new Democrats. Let's pursue an economic agenda to encourage these people to keep voting Democratic.
