Had my dad over for dinner tonight... |
|
He is a true democrat, but couldn't bring himself to vote D across the board tonight. He voted for Willie Cotton (Socialist Workers) rather than Alan Hevesi because of Hevesi's ethics issues.
And this from a retired bank president. :D

3. Well, he thinks for himself. That's admirable. At least, he's still having |

dinners with you -- and you're not estranged!
In peace,

I struggled on that line too. I suspect Hevesi will resign and we'll have a special election for comptroller or our new governor will appoint someone.

6. I feel you- when I went to vote tonight |
|
I saw that my 85 year old dad had gotten out of the house and voted today. (I saw he had signed the book) and I got weepy.. he's 85 and not in great health, cant drive anymore and sometimes forgets things- but he still got up, got dressed and voted.
I'm also proud that after YEARS of being a Republican (in a house full of Dems, shocking), he has voted DEM since 2000.
When I saw that book tonight I realized he is one of the main reasons I vote in every single election. He always told me not to do so would be an embarrasment to people who fought hard for me to be able to.
