RECOUNT in Virginia Senate race? Winning margins within 0.5 percent
result in automatic recounts, according to MSNBC.

The current margin is 0.28 percent!

BTW, who is the Green candidate, Parker, and from whom does he take more votes away?

4. Gail Parker....a woman...
Gail Parker....a woman. Her ENTIRE platform is based on wanting to build trains everywhere. Her slogan is something like "Get on the Rail with Gail!" or some nonsense.

6. Oops! Do you know whether SHE is thought to draw more votes from Webb
or from Allen? I'd imagine she draws her 1.1 percentage points mainly from Webb if she's pushing taking government gasoline-tax revenues away from suburbanites' cars and awarding them to inter- and intra-city mass transit She could cost Democrats control of the Senate!

5. With 95.66 percent of precincts in, it's Allen by 0.62 percent
The number of reporting entities with less than 100 percent of precincts in is down below 20 of 134 jurisdictions. Judging by the Allen/Webb split in precints that have already reported in each of the 19 outstanding jurisdictions a few minutes ago, it seems to me Webb still has a good chance of a narrow victory. In any case, this race appears headed for a recount and the courts, unless Webb rolls over like Kerry.

From http://sbe.virginiainteractive.org/nov2006/l_02.htm , the jurisdictions with fewer than 100 percent of precincts reporting were :

ARLINGTON COUNTY
CRAIG COUNTY
FAIRFAX COUNTY
HALIFAX COUNTY
HENRICO COUNTY
HIGHLAND COUNTY
ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY
JAMES CITY COUNTY
LOUDOUN COUNTY
LOUISA COUNTY
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY
RICHMOND COUNTY
CHESAPEAKE CITY
NEWPORT NEWS CITY
NORFOLK CITY
PETERSBURG CITY
RICHMOND CITY
VIRGINIA BEACH CITY

7. Allen by 0.62 percentage points, at 11:16 with 96.81 percent
of precincts reporting. The number of jurisdictions (out of 134) with precincts still outstanding was down to 13, still with more expected Webb margins than Allen margins:

Allen percentage among reporting precincts, jurisdiction, and outstanding precincts

77 PETERSBURG CITY - 1 of 8
73 ARLINGTON COUNTY - 1 of 50
72 RICHMOND CITY - 18 of 68
63 NORFOLK CITY - 4 of 59
