Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 10:14 PM by leeroysphits
Let's lighten up on his kids. They are non-combatants and, given who thier father is, have enough troubles, also let's face it we should be better than that.

31. I agree, lay off the kids. As for Santorum's gracious defeat,
don't let this scum-bag fool you, he's looking ahead.

9. Just because Santorum stupidly decided to bring his kids out on stage
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 10:14 PM by deadparrot
doesn't mean that we should mock them mercilessly.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

their misery right now.

I doubt that Rick's doing them much good...
But the posts on here calling the kids "funny looking" and laughing at sobbing children crossed the line for me. Those kids don't know what their father stands for; they're miserable and tired and are being dragged up onto a stage in front of god knows how many people with cameras and noise. It's probably not a fun experience. Add to that the fact that Rick "hold the remains of your premature dead baby brother" Santorum is their father, and it's hard for me not to feel a little compassion.

11. It's not their fault that they're father brought them there. They are
little kids, and it's not their fault their father is a scum bag.

We are better than this. We're Democrats.

23. Maybe the kids wanted to go? Wouldn't you want to go to your dad's

victory party? Santorum may have believed he'd win, despite the polls. And kids need to face difficulties in life when their family is affected; they can be more traumatized if they're "protected" by the adults.

4. Thanks, leeroy. I agree.
Leave the kids out of it. They didn't pick their father; they are stuck with him. And, they probably DO love him, regardless of politics.

14. He used his own children as props... its pathetic...
Rick Santorum: I love family so much I used mine as prop to make everyone feel sorry for me. My children have been filmed on national television crying and they will remember their breakdown for the rest of their lives. But they're just a prop for my ambition. Sixteen years people, bring on the lobbying job. Those kids are victims of his ignorance.

If he also happens to be their father...

I feel bad for those kids and I can't believe they're so emotionally involved in their father's job... That cannot be healthy, Mr. Santorum!

28. The Big Picture is threefold.
1) Making fun of children is giving ammo to the Freeps to say: "Look, I told you Dems were scum."

2) Remember when you were those kids' ages; did you know a hell of a lot about politics? I didn't. I would not want to be made fun of because of my parents' stupid political views.

3) We are better than this.

30. Rick "The Virginian" Santorum should NOT have brought out the kids.
That was completely uncalled for -- an humiliation those children neither needed nor deserved.

If you ask me, Santorum's a shitty dad.
