13. It was closer than the polls that Schumer used to NOT SEND MONEY to Lamont.
And the big name Dems who refused to stand with the Democratic Party and Lamont can go fock themselves - this ain't over.

24. And the reason these Dems didn't stand up for Lamont
is because they are all incumbents and they didn't like those upity CT Dem voters voting out an incumbent in a primary....they all make me sick.....

17. Why is Lamont conceeding?
A 2.5% vote shift between him and Joe makes it a tie, with 10% going to the (R) candidate. That has "run off" written all over it.

25. Well technically it couldn't have been a pickup
The seat was technically held by a Dem. Though obviously Joe was not a true Dem

and then take a job with BushCo. The repuke gov. will then appoint a repuke Senate replacement.

27. He will caucus Dems...
I touched on this in another thread. Despite his support for the war he still votes around 80% progressive. Particularly on choice concerning abortion and labor issues. He will lose his seniority if he switches parties.

35. Make every media outlet identify him as CFL
and may all of his money dry up for any future runs. Establishment Dem's should strip him of seniority making it harder for him to gain any funding because this is the last time he'll be funded by republicans unless he switches parties officially.

33. he didn't expect to be in double jeopardy
Lieberman did not respect the democratic process.
He had a responsibility to concede and direct his constituency to vote for the winner of the primary. That's the point of the @#$%! primary.
So, Lamont deserves no blame.

28. Exit poll for this race
Predicts a 10 point difference

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2006/pages/results/states/CT/S/01/epolls.0.html

Lieberman is getting about 66% of the conservative vote.

I can't find where the margin of error is in this poll.

37. This is a victory for Progressives.
The lesson: Mainstream Dems are not loyal to the party, so you don't need to vote for them just because they have a "D" after their name.

Plus, between Bernie Sanders in Vermont and Lieberman - no one can now seriously believe that Senate seats can't be won by 3rd party candidates.
