17. I have mixed feelings too
But I certainly feel a sense of relief and more importantly don't have the real sense of dread I had the last two elections.

It's nice not to lose seats for once!

18. Even if we don't get the Senate
Picking up 3-5 seats is still good because:

1. No chance of the nuclear option ever being used. We can still filibuster judges.

2. More chance of being able to filibuster crap legislation (like Social Security privatization) even if some conservative Democrats get cold feet.

That pulls me a bit out of my worries.

I shouldn't let this get me down. I just want a slam dunk to waste these motherfuckers with.

This rules out impeachment, I believe.

But then, we can hound them to hell and back with the House.
