Wisconsinites, Gay Marriage and Death Penalty...
How are your returns? My friends in Madison, Janesville and Stevens Point are hopeful, what's going on in your neck of the woods?

1. the last I saw...
was that the anti-gay marriage (the marriage 'preservation' act) and the death penalty were both PASSING. I'm appalled. I will keep watching and report back.It is still early here for any predictions.

4. Ugh. This is a sad day for progressive Wisconsin, if you are correct.

2. doesn't look good
madison.com is calling it for the gay marriage ban, and for the death penalty-- 60% of voters favor.

I knew the gay marriage ban would pass here... Madison is a little blue in a larger sea of red.

8. Sad day for Wisconsin
It will be a long road back, but they both can eventually be overturned.

10. madison.com has reasonably current results
and both of these dumbass issues seem to be passing. The good news is that Doyle's doing pretty well. Up in our neck of the woods, the Dem challenger's ahead of the wingnut incumbent for state sen. No results yet for assembly.

14. The Wisconsin that I grew up in was incredibly progressive.
This is so sad. But right now as I type, Madame Pelosi is about to give a speech, so I must rejoice in that.
