she expresses some good ideas tonight.

25. You didn't hear her accent?
I did - and I was a Communications major, too.

It was F L A T - flat "a's" flat vowels, in general.

It's NOT a beautiful voice to those outside the Beltway.

39. Give me a break! I have been a radio host and announcer for years and have listened to
all kinds of voices. What are your credentials?

If she has any accent, it might be midwestern. She was raised in Illinois, I believe. Her accent is perfectly acceptable at the top radio stations and has nothing to do with the Beltway!

I have no idea why you are pushing this agenda tonight.

Good night and good luck.

If you think absolute control by Dems is any better than absolute control by Reps, you're sadly mislead. Absolute control is bad. Period.

vote in New York.

Damn, she is a great woman and together with her husband, we could do a LOT WORSE than selecting them as the Democratic co-presidents in 2008.

Good night and good luck.

33. See - thank you!
People in the South and mid-West think her voice is flat.

My husband is from Boston, and I love his accent - so it's not a North/South thing. I just think her nasal tones are, how many times to say this, flat. Like a note that doesn't quite fit, but isn't awfully out of place.

Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 10:56 PM by Radio_Lady
He told me that "people wouldn't listen to a woman because a woman's voice is not authoritative enough." Women were "shrill, nasal, poorly pitched and flat."

You know what? No one would ever say this about a man. We have all sorts of male voices, both accepting or losing their seats tonight. You're the first one who brought up a voice at all.

Sorry, I disagree with you so totally that I could spit! And I don't spit....

46. The Booing
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 11:01 PM by Avalon Sparks
I wish I could remember exactly what she said, it was about Bush and the Republicans - and the booing was in response to some policy Repubs and Bush support and Democrats don't.

I'm positive it wasn't directed at her.
