Ban Gay Marriage...not looking good (except in AZ)
Called in favor of banning gay marriage:

Wisconsin
Virginia
Tennessee
South Carolina

too close to call
South Dakota
Idaho (but only 7% as of 11cst, but not looking good)
Colorado (NO to Domestic Partnership, as well)
Arizona (but the ban may fail!!!!!)

Sorry for the gloomy news.

2. It's so disgusting
Even my own mother voted for it. I was so surprised because she has been pretty progressive lately and voting democratic and everything. My father didn't get to vote today because he rode his bike to work and got a flat so he didn't think to call and get a ride (he was going to vote for it too though). :( But I was thinking earlier that they could always change it like with voting laws.

3. Yep, pretty sad
But not all that surprising. I live in SC, and from the returns, it sounds like we might be the one of the reddest states after tonight (as if we weren't already). I think the gay marriage ban passed by about 80%-20%. Our Republican governor got re-elected, and one of the few statewide Democrats got voted out.

Seeing as this was how my first time voting, it kinda stinks to know my vote didn't really matter that much, but it's at least a good feeling to know that nationwide, I was part of the sentiment that wanted to (and is going to!) sweep out the Republicans!

5. The ban in Az also bans current domestic partner benefits
and it's that clause that is the reason it is going to fail-even your basic religious nut for the most part isn't all crazy about taking away healthcare from a human being for no good reason
