Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 12:39 AM by demwing
Based on responses, I've altered this post a bit.

With Webb now ahead, and Tester cruising, I call the Senate as even.

We've still got Ford in Tennessee and McCaskill in Missouri. Either would give the Dems a 1 seat lead.

Have I done better math than Rove?

5. Still trailing by about 3 points.
Not looking good for TN.

Anybody got a late, hopeful word out of the Show-me state?

9. I think it's actually about McCaskill, no?
I think it's all up to her.

Though I'm pulling for Ford too!

10. These races will be stalled and go through the night, and even beyond.
We're talking absentee ballots and possible litigation here.

Stay tuned, but do get some sleep.

11. I looked at the CNN site and then the maps
It looks like the places where there are large votes still out are heavy blue areas.
There is still hope for Ford. I have NO idea how they handle the early votes there.

15. The early vote turnout was very heavy,
but I believe those figures have already been included in the running total. Its all up to the remaining counties, and absentee, but they would have to swing very heavily toward the Dems to pull it out.

16. If we win the Senate...
It will be with Tester, Webb, and McCaskill. Still optimistic that will happen.

Ford, unfortuantely, looks to be a loss.

IMO, worst case scenario will be a 50-50 in the Senate with us picking up Tester and McCaskill and losing Webb and Ford.

Webb has been climbing steadily for the last few hours, and now holds the lead.

17. I'd look for McGaskill over Ford, because of the gay marriage
question (thanks alot, Republicans)--they've basically stacked it against him.

Which is a shame, because he's fantastic.

24. Webb will win on recount. Ford came close, and we will see more of him
Likely: Tester gets MT, McCaskill likely gets MO.

Likely: we get the Senate too. I didn't think it would happen.
