7. Majority leader or Speaker?
He was planning to challenge Hoyer for leader, rather than Pelosi as Speaker.

25. Why don't you wait for some actual confirmation before making a judgement?
For cripessakes, the OP couldn't even spell Murtha's name correctly! There's no link to any documentation of this supposed statement - and as others on this thread have already pointed out, the position Murtha may allegedly be referring to is "majority leader" -- which is a different position than "Speaker of the House".

At least make sure of the facts before reacting...

26. get some reading complrehension skills
I am not saying that Murtha is doing this...only that I expect something like this to happen. I've seen too many posts on DU about dumping Pelosi and heard too much in the media about it.

29. How's YOUR reading comprehension? Do you understand the difference between
"majority leader" and "speaker of the House"? They are two different and distinct positions. Murtha is NOT looking to depose Pelosi.

14. I don't believe that's the case.
He's not challenging Pelosi for speaker, but he may run for Majority Leader against AIPAC stooge Steny Whore. And if that's the case, I'm behind Murtha all the way.

until after the election.

Pelosi is owed a lot, she deserves to be Speaker.

Whoops my error, Majority Whip vs. Hoyer.

I was planning on Pelosi becoming President after Bush and Cheney are impeached (assuming they just don't flee the country).

20. Speaker, no way. It would look like a concession to the Republicans.
All they've done is demonize Pelosi for months. This would give them a victory. Hell, no!

Go for majority leader, Murtha.
