Anyone else feeling 6 years of sorrow lifted all at once?
I feel lighter. Free-er. And so ready for the tough work we have ahead of cleaning up after the kids threw a part while we were gone.

God, I love this country. This wonderful, beautiful democracy of ours. Thank you America, for taking back our country!

8. I am, but there's a lot of work to do.
Let the impeachment proceedings begin!

And let my sister's 2000 prediction that George W. Bush would resign in infamy come true.

Oh, and then there's the media consolidation issue.

And the fairness doctrine.

And health care.

And the environment.

And corporate "personhood...."

9. It feels good
I'm still a little nervous about VA and MT, but I think when it's all said and done we win them both and take back the senate. It is a great night for America.

16. 14 years, it's been 14 long years...
This kind of puts Lieberman in a position of power with which I'm not entirely comfortable, tho.

18. Definitely getting there.
It hasn't totally sunk in yet, probably because I'm so tired from my recent personal battles - but by tomorrow I know I will fully savor the experience. Might even have some random thoughts on the matter, about how it is that things work out for the best sometimes (Howard Dean's contribution to our victory, etc.). For now, I shall have to head out for the night, much as I'd like to wait for those last two states to come in to give us the Senate. Whether we win the Senate or not, though, I feel safer tonight, more peaceful, more hopeful than I have in a long time.

I think I'm going to collapse. It needs a day or so to sink in.
