We have broken the back of the "Neo-Con Revolution" tonight.
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 02:32 AM by WilliamPitt
Snap. Sorry about that.

Maybe not for all time; I am in no condition to read any more tea leaves tonight. All I know is, right now, and for the forseeable future, that whole disgusting charade has been gutted and exposed.

All I know is we won. Finally.

All I know is "If" became "When," and is "Now," now.

Now we govern.

You have the Constitution back...or, as Ben Franklin once said, "A Republic, madam, if you can keep it."

I intend to keep it.

Never again.

Now I must go fall down.

Sleep sweetly, my beloved brothers and sisters. Sleep sweetly and well, perhaps for the first time in years, because you have earned it.

Oh, P.S. Karl Rove can go fuck himself. Two times. "Genius"...heh.

1. Somebody pinch me.
It isn't sinking in yet. I can't believe it. Oh, but it's true. It's true.

And it wasn't the straw that broke the back. It was the entire bale.

Sweet dreams...

2. For the first time since November 2000.....
I shall sleep with a smile... No, not in total peace-- we have a lot of work to do-- but with a smile, nonetheless.

:toast: my friends... It has been a very rough ride together.

3. Not only broken it...
Left it in cinders like the burn pile in the back of my property, smoldering ashes becoming a forgotten pile of debris.

Good riddance.

Look out BushCo - you are next, and your time has come...

4. In honor of Gramps.. a favorite

Twelve-year-old Douglas Spaulding knows Green Town, Illinois, is as vast and deep as the whole wide world that lies beyond the city limits. It is a pair of brand-new tennis shoes, the first harvest of dandelions for Grandfather's renowned intoxicant, the distant clang of the trolley's bell on a hazy afternoon. It is yesteryear and tomorrow blended into an unforgettable always. But as young Douglas is about to discover, summer can be more than the repetition of established rituals whose mystical power holds time at bay. It can be a best friend moving away, a human time machine who can transport you back to the Civil War, or a sideshow automaton able to glimpse the bittersweet future.

Sleep well

Homage to the passing of Wills Grandfather, and the wisdom we absorb from our elders.

5. The neocon facade will not surface again any time soon
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 02:37 AM by Erika
They and their simpleton Bushbots came close to destroying this country. Even many of them now realize that. And I hope they experience the shame that should come with that admission. They earned it.

After tonight, I'm not discounting any possibility.

19. I'm in tears
I went about my day today with the same anxiety as I had in 2004. Twice, we've seen what should have been ours taken from us. My God, we can actually work on taking our country back now. Us. We The People. We've lived with the loss of liberties, lockstep, party-over-country votes, no accountability, unitary executive, and on and on. The America I come from was the land of the free and the home of the brave, not a place of fear and smear. We were loved and respected, not feared, all over the world, and were a shining example of Democracy. We were people who picked up the pieces, moved on and healed, built things better than we were before. So now we can start the process of healing again.
