I keep hearing how there will be very few "moderate Republicans"
left in the Senate...as if all those being beaten were moderate.

When is this media going to wake up to the fact that this has been a RADICAL far right Congress...these "moderates" went right along with Bush's crappy agenda.....

once you've seen how quickly Republican Senators can become moderates when their state turns Blue under their feet. Have you heard anything radical out of the NH bunch (Gregg and Sununu) lately? Out of Coleman, Specter, Gord Smith, Voinovich, John Warner? I didn't think so.

Then there's the ugly fact that small state Senators generally have to be incredible suck-ups to their Party's big state Senators and the leaders of the Senate majority (if the two are not identical). Getting your home state projects defunded because you're not compliant is ugly leverage, but it's the way things work.
