News from GERMANY: "PUNISHMENT for the maliciousness of right-conservative extremists"!
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 02:39 AM by Bluebear
...The first chamber, the house of representatives, clearly fetched the majority back after twelve years of powerlessness. It was a pulverizing victory over the republicans, and it is the end of the republican supremacy in Washington. From today on the democrats are also included in the process of governing.

Still president for two years: George W. Bush approaches hard times

The reasons for the defeat are not only the Iraq war. They lie more deeply.

The turn to the democrats began precisely with the case of Terri Schiavo. One remembers: When the the husband of the awake yet comatose female patient in Florida decided her food intake should be switched off, the republicans in the congress produced a national rebellion. When the judges supported the husband, the party head of the republicans at that time, Tom DeLay, stepped in the house of representatives, with a stony face and turned into the television and said, "we will hold the judges 'accountable' .

Sounding like a Stalistic dictator, many Americans, not on democrats but also republican, were frightened the way DeLay had the cold will to intervene in private family situations. "The whole family is crying over the loss"

Conclusion:

George W. Bush will try to sing the melody of today in his press conference that he is suddenly more centrist, as he was when he was the governor of Texas. And Nancy Pelosi, his new chief Opponent, will call him on it. The more skillfully she does, all the more probable it will be in November 2008 that we will have the introduction of a democrat in the white house.
