There's the "sensible", "Brooks-Brothers", Eisenhower-type Repub that probably recognizes that his or her party has been hijacked and would like to see a correction. There are Repubs who would like to re-group and then re-take everything in 2008. They may be gleefully waiting in the wings for us to mess up. But the sheeple types are stunned. And the ones who went for Republican as a brand identity, the ones who thought it was "cool" to be part of a culture of greed, excessive consumption, and world domination, who wanted to drive Hummers and act like racist, sexist assholes because the cool kids were doing it, well, they're stunned, too. Bush isn't cool, anyone who aligns themselves with * isn't cool, and, gasp, they're not cool either. It's NOT hip to be square!
