Why do I get the feeling that most of us are more relieved than celebratory?
I know we're all excited about gaining both houses, but I am noticing an incredible lack of WAHOOS! in GD. I can only speak for myself, however: I'm breathing a sigh of relief, drinking some warm milk, and getting some sleep tonight.

But I'm going to have a large smile on my face :D

1. Most of us expected a Dem victory in the House
That is definitely a relief...I'm pretty happy about the margin as well.

But the senate possibility really is icing on the cake.

2. we all know this is just the 1st step -- we must constantly watch
OUR SERVANTS.

We can NEVER AGAIN afford to just trust that everything will work out OK. We now KNOW that 'eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.' If we want good legislation, we HAVE to WORK for it every day.

7. I agree.
I think many of us were really just hoping that Democracy would work, that our votes would be counted. I knew that if we found evidence of fraud, not only would it prolong the outcome and the validity of those elected would be cast into doubt, but that our entire democracy would fall into question.

So, I guess, relieved...yes.

But celebratory wasn't far behind.

8. There is to be a total recount of Yellowstone County, MT? WTF?
Suddenly, I am not so relieved anymore.

The nation is padding off to bed. Cheney is supposedly in North Dakota and all the sudden we are having count problems in MONTANA?

This is MY turf! That bastard is trying to steal the Senate from MY YARD.

It's personal now.

12. Apparently they found some ballots in an old picnic basket....
Here's a photo of the suspects the police are seeking in the possible voter fraud:

15. Not amused. Cheney was here Halloween and supposedly in ND today
I KNEW that bastard would not give it up. He is trying to steal it and he is doing it on MY turf.

Yogi is not appreciated at this point.

9. Because...
This is far too serious to take lightly. It's a time to nod, smile, and put our heads down and push on. We're in the middle of a battlefield and the enemy is firing all around. Jumping up and down too much will only get us hurt.
We are only too aware of what was and is still at stake. It's not funny, and who can dance when others are dying because of.....us?
That's why.

11. Not drinking warm milk in this household!
But yeah, I've been on needles and pins all day, wondering if it would go down like 2000 and 2004 did.

16. I'm thrilled, but anxiety has had my stomach in a knot for three days
I'm glued to either the tv or computer, but I have noticed that little by little thoughts are occuring to me to make me laugh blissfully. It's the complete opposite reaction from the last elections!

17. When the worst pain in the world is finally lifted, I think relief is to be expected. But there's
a great deal of celebration just aching for release. In due time...in due time.
