and, yes Virginia, you are our Santa Claus.

After the last 6 years of darkness, I woke up this morning to a cloudy western Pennsylvania day. But somehow, I knew in my heart, the sun was out there somewhere...and it did peak through the clouds in the late afternoon for just a moment...as if it was telling me don't worry...tomorrow WILL be a BEAUTIFUL DAY.

I am tired..and happy ...and sad. Sad for the thousands of men and women and children who are not here with us today due to the Bush administrations illegal war, to share in this historic moment.

Happy that our Constitution will once again have a chance ...that WE THE PEOPLE are not an historical anomaly. That our forefathers did not err..that we have a system where one person CAN make a difference.

Tired...but that's okay, because I now once again have faith...that Our Government, Of The People, for The People, SHALL NOT perish from this Earth. There is still a lot of life left in the old nag.

I know what you mean. There have been many election days (in particular, 1980 and 1994) where I had a free-floating sense of dread, as if I already knew something bad would happen.

This time, we were getting torrential rains and major flooding here in Seattle, yet I knew that there would be good news by tonight.
