Idaho Proposition 2 lost--good news for all of us |
|
The serious wingnuts like to use Idaho as a proving ground for their varied nefarious schemes. The state is largely conservative, so a lot of the crap they try to pull will pass there.
Idaho Proposition 2 was probably the most dangerous one they tried. It would have required the state to pay a private landowner if a regulation "reduced the value" of the landowner's property. Some out-of-state group brought it in, and it got stomped by a margin of about 50 percent.

and apparently was tried in around ten states, all financed by a New York billionaire libertarian, whose name escapes me now (PBS's NOW reported on this several weeks back)

2. Ah, that was also on the ballot here in Washington. |

I think it might be more a 'wild west' thing. Or a rural thing.
