My absentee ballot went for Webb, a
brother Marine who proved his honor to America in his actions, many
years ago, and who will stand for us again and lead. Having spent 21 months on the ground in Iraq, throughout all of Northern and Western
Iraq, with all US elite units, including Delta Force (CAG),
it is better to make a good run
than a bad stand.
I say again: It is better to make a
good run than a bad stand. South of
Kurdistan, Iraq is nothing but a bad stand.

Iraq is a map, not a country. Defending
Kurdistan, backing an independent Kurdistan--which is a unified culture and a unified people and will be a unified country--signing a permanent security agreement with the Kurds,
and striking at Al Qaeda clandestinely in Western Iraq and Baghdad, from permanent bases and safehouses in Kurdistan, will save tens of thousands of US lives, keep hundreds of thousands of US military from being wounded and maimed, and save hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. It will build a road to victory in the Near East, and a road to peace, long-term.

By the way, "Better to make a good run than a bad stand" comes from the Texas Rangers. The Texas Rangers who carry shotguns and .45s and who earned that proverb in blood on the Mexican border in the 1800s. Not the Texas Rangers once owned by the dime-store cowboy at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW who always has one boot up his hindquarters and the other one in his mouth. Of course, that's the problem with Bush, he can't distinguish between his hindquarters and his mouth.
