Let's PRAY it doesn't come down to THIS! (to obtain Senate majority).
If only ONE of the two, Tester (MT) or Webb (VA) win and the Senate breaks 48/48 with two Indy's (Lieberman and Bernie), the R's would retain control (because Cheney would rule on every tie). That would mean begging Joe Lieberman to keep his promise and switch his Party Affiliation back to (D) to give us a 49/48 majority."

The thought of Democrats having to beg and "make nice" with Joe, makes me nauseous.

1. There are bound to be enough indictments to give us The Senate soon enough. n/t

3. Lieberman and Bernie
have already said they will caucus with the Democrats, and I think the current 49/49 tally is based upon that.

No, even if Lieberman keeps his promise, we still have to win MT and VA to have control of the Senate. Then we will have to continually kiss Joe's tush to keep him from switching parties.

But, let's savor the moment - we have the House and Dems scored major victories in many statewide races.

4. As "wooly-headed and impractical" as I may seem,
it should be up to Lieberman to eat a little shit before he can regard himself once again a Democrat. After all, what are HIS choices? "Bolt" to the Party of Dead Elephants? And even if they have the ballz try to steal VA and/or MT, they'll just make their Party a STENCH in the nostrils of the American citizenry. I think the "realists" (and/or patriots) in that Party will draw back from that.

I have a few more thoughts about that, but I haven't gone to bed yet! I'm gettng a little GOOFY.

6. my money is on Rummy being replaced by Lieberman
My money is on Little Baby Bush tapping Lieberman to replace Rummy in the next month or so.
That would mean the republican governor would then appoint a Republican to take his Lieberman's spot.

8. The Democratic House would never approve him.
As long as Democrats control the House, and knowing he'd be replaced with a Republican, they'd never approve his appointment.

5. Joe will probably want to make nice, too.
After all, his "kingmaker" status also hangs on by the thinnest of threads. I suspect that there will be both rewards and punishments ahead for Lieberman, if only symbolic.

The important thing now concerning that little donnybrook is to make sure Ned Lamont isn't forgotten in the shuffle. If this is truly a "Democratic tsunami" and the start of a long-term trend, it will be "Joementum"'s last big victory -- of any kind. However, it may only be Ned Lamont's first election -- and, for all we know, his last defeat.

7. Either way we need Joe
Lieberman was never the most conservative Democratic in the Senate; he was just a sanctimoniious asshole (as well as one of the more conservative ones). To control the Senate, we need Webb, Tester, Lieberman, and Sanders on our side. It's time to make nice to Lieberman.

9. Enough of this scaremongering.
I realise that raising the specter of Lieberman defecting to the GOP was a necessary tactic for the Lamont campaign, but the election is over.

As for having to "beg or make nice with Joe" why do you think most of the leadership stayed the fuck away from CT? They've got nothing to apologise for.

10. They'll be pulling an odd train
with Joe kissing bush's ass and us kissing joe's ass.
Makes me ill just thinking of it.
Joe needs to repent and become a full fledged Democrat and give up the empire thing.
