Let's not forget our other wins. Dems have taken control
of the governorships in a majority of states AND, the one I really like, Dems have won the majority of state legislatures as well.

So much for all those talking heads that insist that "conservative values" are the majority in this country. This was an overwhelming night for our side.

1. Defeated 2 abortion measures

That I know of. South Dakota and the minority notice in Oregon. Stem cell research passed in Missouri. Sad the gay marriage bans keep passing, but that's the only real conservative position that continues to be tough to break.

And passed minimum wage in a bunch of states.

2. But didn't AZ defeat the gay marriage ban initiative there? It's only
one, but it's a start in the right direction.

And that's what I see this election to be ... a move in the direction this country really needs to go. Break the grip of the neos and extreme right and head back to reality.

7. Yeah, that's right
Kind of amazing, considering the rest of the voting in the state. But that's one!

4. Congratulations! Being here in Oregon, it's pretty much a given
which direction the state is going. I've been living vicariously through all of you in those red areas that are finally getting some relief.

6. An, in what I consider earth-shaking (or at least Granite State-shaking) news...
An, in what I consider earth-shaking (or at least Granite
State-shaking) news, the Democrats held the New Hampshire
Governor's chair, captured the Executive Council (~five
Lt. Governors), took the state senate 14-10, and..

***DRUM ROLL, PLEASE***...

Captured the New Hampshire State House for the first time
since the neolithic era!

That came like a bolt out of the blue; I don't think
*ANYONE* was expecting that last one!
