A Lesson In Humility and Humanity
Waking up this morning I realized that both emotions are running high today. A brutal lesson of humility for conservatives and the wonderful voice of humanity singing a song of hope for our nation as a whole. Yes my friends, the nightmare is coming to an end. We are no longer living in a lucid dream filled with the horror of conservative fear and hate. We can actually open our curtains this morning and allow the light of change to come flooding in. Will the republicans walk with us? I doubt it. They just took a beating last night that reached from the farms of the midwest all the way to the white house. That quiet collective gasp was the gasp of defeat played out in homes nation wide. May the lesson be learned by those who preached that we could not win due to our beliefs, we won BECAUSE our beliefs represented change, not because your party was simply weak. We did it by raising our voices above your tactics and your ignorance to change. You couldn't let a sleeping dog lie my republican friends and we didn't roll over to get kicked in the teeth again. We formed stronger bonds and larger groups of support in this election because of your hate filled tirades, your figure heads that preach condemnation, and your leaders who have stood by and watched as thousands of men and women came home in body bags. For that I thank you. You showed your true colors for six years and we overcame it. You not only taught a nation but the world on how not to act and behave on a global stage. May we as democrats remember this lesson from our conservative ilk.....celebrate...we deserve it. But temper our joy with the hard work that we will still need in the next two years. Do it with the grace and compassion that I know all of you have within you. We have the most wonderful opportunity to seize more votes in the upcoming presidential election. Lets reach out to those who are lost and give them a solid "home" in the democratic party to reside in. We can do it, we have done it. And although its been said a million times over I thank all of you for working so hard...please don't stop we are on a roll. Champagne anyone?
