Why We Won: Howard Dean, Ned Lamont & Keith Olbermann
Howard Dean - devised the 50-state strategy that ended up netting us seats that we would never have imagined we could win.

Ned Lamont - showed Dems that running against the war worked, and that incumbency was not a firewall against losing.

Keith Olbermann - went after bush in no uncertain terms, showing Ds that the country was ready to hold bush accountable.

Thanks, guys. You did your country a real service.

1. Yes. And Wes Clark, John Kerry, Al Gore, Bill Clinton...
Wes Clark - The Fighting Dems did incredible, incredible work for us. Even those that did not win, they were part of the team and spread the Rethugs thin and made sure the team made it over the top.

John Kerry - So much time, energy, and heart'n'soul.

Al Gore - "Inconvenient Truth" and Al's reappearance as a respected Dem figure in the media were very important.

Bill Clinton - Campaigned in so many places - he brought out crowds and raised money in state after state and after.

4. Steve Colbert - legitimized our angst
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 10:40 AM by rocknation
by sticking it right in George Bush's face.

Jon Stewart: for elevating The Daily Show to a political force--and all he did was point out the obivous.

The left-wing blogosphere: We had our own noise machine.
