My faith in American democracy is (somewhat) restored.
There's still a lot of work to do; Dems have to aggressively pursue and prosecute those who would commit election fraud in all its ugly permutations--and for God's sake, let's outlaw these stupid touch-screen voting machines ASA fucking P. But in all, the people have spoken, and their votes have been counted with sufficient accuracy to save our Republic from two more years of one-party rule. It's a great day, and I'm going to celebrate by playing my Strat really, really loud and then drinking champagne with lunch. You're all welcome to join me in rocking out and putting on a nice, early-afternoon champagne buzz.

1. We still have a long, hard struggle ahead; but we have a fighting
chance now to lay the foundation for the restoration of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, plus the protections of the Magna Carta.

Down with King George! Long live the Republic!
