Dallas County Judges Lose Seats in Democratic Deluge

Victories Represent General Shift As GOP Loses Grip On Area

I said this on another thread, but six years ago, you were hard-pressed to FIND Democratic candidates for judgeships in Dallas County. HARD-PRESSED.

In 2004, I think Democrats took four judgeships from Republicans in Dallas County (and the new sheriff elected that year is a Democrat).

This year? 41. Forty-fucking-one.

I think I'm in shock still.

5. Y'know, Dallas Republicans were posting this sign...
It read:

VOTE REPUBLICAN JUDGES
Tough, Firm, Fair

I've managed to grab some of these signs with the intent of touching them up a bit and giving one to DCDP Chair Darlene Ewing as a victory present:

WHAT REPUBLICAN JUDGES?
Trounced, Foiled, F%#&ed

6. The demographic bomb--
It's why Rove and * have tried to pry off as much of the hispanic vote as possible and to use federal money to buy off black churches. It's coming to Texas and the old guard will need more than their walled-off gated neighborhoods, vouchers, charter schools, and toll roads to protect their privilege.

7. Amen and you can say that again.
I knew this would happen. I knew it was just a matter of time. Things are going to get much worse for Republicans. Much worse.

10. That's GREAT!
You know what sucks tho? Here in Houston most of the R judges were running unopposed.

I left most of my ballot blank -- the only judges I voted for reelection were the probate court judges. I know them, they know me, and I know which side of my bread has the butter.
