3. Let them have their recounts ... |
|
You can not cry foul yourself (00, 04), and then deny your opponent the same right.
Recounts are about making sure every vote counts. It does not matter who calls for them, or who is currently in the lead. The important thing is that EVERY vote is counted.
If it means we lose the Senate, then so be it ... JUST SO LONG AS EVERY VOTE IS COUNTED.
Cheers Drifter

even with the 5% edge (as per Greg Palast) and all of the voter suppression and intimidation, he still wants to challenge the result.

5. I understand that attitude ... |
|
... and feel that way myself, for the most part.
But look at it the other way around. If WE needed one more seat and it was THIS close, wouldn't you want a recount?
However, in this case, there's an ironic backlash for Crybaby. A few short weeks ago, Allen was looking at a slam-dunk, expecting a quick win with an unquestionably wide margin.
As it's turned out, he lost - and if and when they drag out this recount, it will end in the utter humiliation of having to accept defeat TWICE, and very publicly so.
In addition, Allen's massive failure is so obviously due to one thing, and one thing only: himself. His own arrogance, bigotry, and big mouth did him in, and there's no one else he can blame.
His chances of a 2008 run are also now gone, big time. The GOP powers-that-be have watched him screw his own campaign on an almost daily basis. There's no way they're going to give him a shot at screwing their chances at capturing the WH.
So as much as we all hated Senator Maccaca, let's remember how impolite it is to speak ill of the POLITICALLY DEAD.

Maybe then he could go AWOL and someday become a real GOP pResident!
Edit...Gals and Guys, I'm not saying we shouldn't take the high road here. We should.
All I'm saying is that, taking the High Road is as alien to Mr. Allen, as a days honest work would be! Have the GOPers played fair in the past three elections? I'm pointing out, as I do so often, the GOP hypocrisy!
