Kucinich's 'to do' list for the next DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!YEAH BABY YEAH!!
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/200601030_kucinich_one_party_rule/
I will not prejudice with any criticism or charges any oversight hearings of any committee I may chair in the next Congress. However, I do know that the American people still have unanswered questions about
9/11,
WMDs,
the abandonment of international law and the Geneva Conventions,
the war in Iraq,
the White House Iraq Group,
the Rendon propaganda machine,
Afghanistan,
Abu Graib,
Guantanamo,
the Pat Tillman case,
Iraq war casualties,
the missing $10.8 billion in Iraq reconstruction funds,
the human and economic toll of the war,
rendition,
wiretapping,
domestic spying,
and plans for an attack on Iran..

BRING IT ON DENNIS!!!!!

3. Imagine how much money we could recover!
The pentagon has lost trillions total, billions in the war in Iraq

Halliburton has been ripping of the American taxpayer right and left, and they were still given billions in bonuses. These war profiteers still have the money somewhere...I say we find it and take it back!

Kucinich Calls for Paper Ballots on PBS

Calls Electronic Voting Machines Unreliable

Nov 2, 2006

Congressman Kucinich contributed to PBS's Newshour segment about electronic voting Wednesday.

"There is such a powerful awareness among the American people about this question of the deficiencies in the technology that it has actually undermined confidence in the election process," Kucinich said.

"It's not failsafe. If somebody can show me you could have an election with a 100-percent assurance, that there's no vulnerabilities to attack, there's no vulnerabilities in the software, that the software works like a dream and the hardware's perfect, people can show that, then, yes, I'm ready to hear what they have to say. But until that time, look, there's plenty of reasons to be concerned."

40. I'M DONE WITH DENNIS!! FUCK HIM ALL TO HELL!
This is the last time I'm working for any candidate, after this shit.

I was very careful in 2004 who I volunteered for. None of them were interested in poverty, and I sure wasn't going to give my time and energy to anyone who didn't care about *ME*.

But, Dennis came on with the "Poverty is a weapon of mass destruction", "Hunger is a weapon of mass destruction", "Homelessness is a weapon of mass destruction", and I read his book, and listened to his speeches, and read his position papers, and became convinced that this was a politician who really did care about me and other poor folk.

Then, halfway through his campaign, he had volunteers "vote" on the issues they most wanted, and of course, NOBODY "voted" for poverty, so that went by the wayside. When I spoke to the people in my state campaign, they really didn't care. When I called his office, they all said, "BUt all the issues are connected. You know Dennis has always cared about poor people."

NOthing since then from him, and now this crappy list.

What am I, chopped liver?

He can work on everything else, but can't find ANY time to work to overcome the cuts to Medicaid WHICH ARE KILLING PEOPLE NOW, or the cuts to PUBLIC HOUSING, which is why I"m homeless now???

I realize that people on DU don't really care that this hurts so much, and I know that I'll either be ignored, or blasted, but I'm so sick of this shit that I just don't care anymore.

If you want all us poor folk to just leave you all alone, and let you find other votes, then fine.

CUZ I've had it with Dennnis and his supporters not caring, and being blasted for speaking up.

SHIT!

41. Misunderstanding...
This list is the things he stated the American people have questions about, future hearing possibilities...not a list of things he thinks are important in general.

Of course, stopping this war in Iraq would save billions, billions that could be spent on more important things like say helping those in poverty.

57. No, no misunderstanding.. he's dropped us poor folk like a hot potatoe.
Yeah, everyone keeps harping on saving the war money for poor folk.

I don't buy it. NOBODY would fight to have that money go to poor folk!! I've seen enough of this politcal wrangling to know that much. It's only words, no action.

If it was important, there would have been a lot more work to stop the budget cuts last time around! Lost by one vote in the Senate, and two in the House. Really, with some effort on the part of "progressives", there wouldn't be people doing without now.

Cut the war for poor folk?

Pppfffftttt!

43. I care very much. I don't blame you for hurting.
When times were tough in my life I had some pretty raw nerves and wanted to count on somebody in this world. When you're poor, people treat you far worse than their pets.

I went to the food bank, recycled bottles. Not going to get into my hard luck story -BUT it gets better. It always gets better. Now we have a break, politically. Hang in there bobbolink.

Dennis probably does a better job of putting himself in your shoes than anybody. Still, no human is perfect. And in a campaign, he has to hit the high numbers while balancing what he really cares about. I hope he comes around. I bet if you give it some time, it will show. He really does care. I believe that, and I'm a big cynic.

It feels good to get that shit out. Makes it a little bearable for a minute. Nothing unique there. You're not alone.

51. Thank you, upi402, for caring.
:pals:

I very much appreciate your words. It's so sad that we now live in an age where people are so ready to condemn, even when they can hear pain, rather than try to take the time to understand. You're one of the rare ones, and I do appreciate that! :hi:

Yes, this summer my social security was cut, as it was for thousands of others. I had NOTHING to live on for months, and went hungry a lot. It hurt like HELL that it wasn't something that anyone on DU wanted to hear about, or to be involved with trying to agitate about. I HAD NO SUPPORT HERE!! From so-called "progressives". I'm not a cute child, or a dog or an Iraqi, so what I was going through didn't matter.

You don't get over that kind of abandonment, and I will never trust "progressives" after having experienced that. It just doesn't register on their meter.

That HURTS.

The same with Dennis. He abandoned poor folk, and is only going after the approval of "progressives", rather than being a LEADER, and speaking up for what is right, even when his followers aren't interested. From what I can see, it's only the CBC who have the concern to speak out for poverty now. That not only hurts, it frightens me.

I will disagree with you on one thing--it doesn't "always get better". There are THOUSANDS of people dying in this country from poverty! In my book, that's not "getting better". Further, it's a total disgrace, especially from people who espouse all sorts of other liberal ideas. My life still isn't as important to them as a damned dog. I've seen too much, and heard too much to be fooled anymore.

I"ve given Dennis plenty of time, so please don't put me in some sort of "impatient" group, or "purist" group, like is flung at people on DU. I've been homeless for over a year now, and there is no hope on the horizon, and I may very well be among those who don't make it, so telling me to be patient for Dennis is not reality. I simply don't register. I'm not an Iraqi, and that's about all he talks about now.

I really never thought I'd see liberals get this cold.

It has caused me to just give up.

54. you're right. doesn't always get better. i know.
at one point in my life i made a decision. it was my lowest point. beyond the foodbank stage. ends up, i made a decision to leave my body running and use it to help others. so i let go, and let god. never a religious person, but always spiritual, and absolutely not preaching anything here. anyway, that worked -in my life. it's been working for decades since. that's my story, in general terms.

48. What About Bankruptcy Law?
Credit Card Companies lobbied and paid the White House to vote on bankruptcy law which most Republicans voted for and Bush said "will sign it eagerly". This should be America, not The Corporation Country.

I fell into hard times several years ago and filed for bankruptcy which I am very grateful to this day. It gave me a fresh start. I want people who fall into hard times have the same opportunity.

What about veterans coming home from Iraq and not able to file for bankruptcy? What about people having high medical bills, unable to pay. There are lots of reasons for people to fall into hard times...now they are unable to get out of it. It's like slavery.

35% were laughable exaggerations of his support.

49. Number 1 issue is restoring our rights!!!!

There are a lot of very worthy issues listed,no doubt about it.But for me the Number 1 issue is restoring our liberties. There is nothing "Patriotic" about an "Act" that resticts our liberties.

DHS wants to enact on the 14th of Jan '07,a rule that would require everyone leaving or entering this country to get approval first.

We're All Prisoners, Now: US Citizens to be Required ''Clearance'' to Leave USA

That and Habeus Corpus..the Patriot Act sends chills down my spine..What about the countless lives that were sacrificed to secure and preserve our liberties?Do we mock them by allowing this kind of shiat to continue?

The Dems better deal with this,or we won't have a democracy to defend or export.
