5. Yep
He knows he's in deep shit so he's trying to look corporative so when the democrats hit and hit hard he can cry and say "but they ain't playin fair!" and than run to Darth Vader.

3. Because "the agenda" is over.
I can't believe it- I can actually listen to him for the first time.

He's suddenly human. As human as a bush can be.

10. Agreed. He is sounding like a genuine human being.
Trouble is, how long before actions decry the veracity of words?

On any elected official's side?

Let's wait and see but I sincerely hope EVERYBODY works together.

6. Because his lips are moving (i.e., he is lying)
Cheney already promised a catastrophic fight to the death (over subpoenas)

This is the last "bipartisanship" we will see out of Junior. Especially once the investigations start cranking.

7. I remember him like this a looooong time ago in Texas - back when the Dems ran TX.
It's funny, this is the OLD Bush I remember, it's kind of startling.

And remember, there are forces at work in the background from way, way back (Baker, Poppy Bush) that I think are seriously guiding some of this.

He knows he got his ass whupped and he is taking it down a notch so he doesn't completely lose face. His dad's folks must have had a serious "come to Jesus" mtg with him.

I see no coke jaw working. He seems almost human to me.
Still an idiot, but almost human. Scary.

Is he relieved?

Oh, he just told his ear-piece "I know I know" LOL

13. I've thought Daddy got involved a few months back...
Daddy bush saw what was coming in the way of the elections and sent Baker and his buddies in hopes of trying to save the repuke party from this defeat.

21. Yep, he's back to "uniting" now that uniting is in his best interests.
The House has the ability to investigate and indict him, so he's suddenly Mr. Cooperation. :eyes:

18. I suspect that he's not had as much choice in policy decisions as we might think...

But I have no evidence to back that up. Of course. A hunch, nothing more. My feeling is that now he knows he's going to lose next time he's um... kind of off the hook.
