Please have more FAITH in being Dems, Dems. What is a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul? Please act like Dems so I don't have to be a VIDO, a voter in Democrat name only. Anyway-GO CONYERS!

I'm very forgiving, but please don't throw us under the bus again. Mmmm-kay?

3. heheh...you've been the lightning rod for so many years now....
at least you got the last week off while GOPs focused on Kerry as the boogeyman.

That tells us something important - the "gay" thing wasn't working for them anymore so they needed to shift focus quickly - thus the lie about Kerry. If it was working, they would have ramped up the antigay rhetoric in the media, but they chose a different target.

In a way, it's good to know that.

4. You're right. But 7 more states passed gay marriage bans.
Which I think will eventually be turned over.

Let's see if your observations hold true in '08.

10. I live in VA.
I'd say "We suck," but we might be putting Webb in the Senate.

7. Time to start talking about civil rights for gay people at a federal level now!
Everyone who said "Wait till after the election..." well, the election's over, and now we can start getting stuff done.

8. Corrupt gays in denial helped us win
Operative word being "corrupt" and "in denial."

Being gay should have never figured into the equation, and DU's GLBT community should never have been disrespected as they were here, intentional or not.

I firmly believe we need to promote/defend gay rights now more than ever, because when one part of our community is singled out and denied rights, they eventually get to the rest of us.

Big hugs to everyone on the DU - gay, straight, black, white, purple, orange, whatever... ;)

9. I think the Dems are finding their voice again
after years of trying to be "Repuke lite". Some very very progressive people were elected yesterday, and many that did not run from Democratic core values.

We even now have a self-styled Socialist in the Senate!!!

The labels of Liberal and Democrat are losing their negative connotation.
