Never have I been so HAPPY to be SO WRONG |
|
With the 2000 and 2004 elections I felt completely helpless. I really thought this election would be stolen AGAIN - that there would be NO WAY Karl Rove would yield ANY power and that even if there was clear fraud, the courts would support the Republicans.
I'm so glad to be so wrong! The doom cloud is lifting! I hope this trend continues for 2008.
Anybody else think the same thing? Or do you think they'll make a big comeback and steal it in 2008?

1. Do you live here in 2006 with the rest of us? |
|
Let the victory sink in, 2008 is unwritten and dependent on today.

i wouldn't even discuss this election with friends for fear of getting my hopes up and having them stolen like 2004. so i've spent all morning calling my friends who were bubbling with optimism yesterday, and thanking them!
i have hope for the first time in years!

I was prepared for the worst, and quite frankly, I'm still waiting for another shoe to drop. However, I am, for the first time in FIVE YEARS, getting cautiously optimistic. And this victory is still bittersweet for me, since I realize how very, very great the SHITLOAD of work we still have to do is. But right now, I'm happy.

7. I've been working on the wording for this very announcement. |
|
I've never been so happy to be wrong in my life. Not only was I wrong, I was massively, profoundly wrong.
My faith in America has been restored (some, still gotta get Dobson et al ridden out of town on a rail).
Happy Day!!!

9. I think part of the problem was huge voter turnout |
|
The bigger the turnout, the harder it is to steal an election.

I was also convinced they'd steal it, and that would be the end of our democracy. And now I'm delighted to be wrong.
