6. Screw him- he's nothing. Just destroy all his work.
Beginning with redistricting.

But hey- if something pops up that calls for some investigations into his activities, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

7. He won't.
This is an extension of the tension between the office of the president and the OVP. Rumsfeld is part of the Cheney group. It is safe to say that Karl Rove has helped the president view his problems as being the fault of the OVP.

12. My suspicion
is that Cheney is the next shoe to drop. They will throw him under the bus to name a hand-picked candidate for '08 (your guess). This would block a Democratic gain from impeaching both P and VP simultaneously. He'll be out before congress is in session.

13. Bush can't force Cheney out. VP is elected.

15. That's true.
The VP does not serve at the pleasure of the president, in the manner of any other administration official. However, VPs do not tend to serve at the displeasure of presidents. Bush can get rid of Cheney.

18. He can't be fired, but he can be hung out to dry.
Pelosi reminded us that we'd have access to his Energy Task Force notes and members. That would do it.

11. Well...
...Bush did - for the first time ever, to my knowledge - took a shot at KKKarl today during his first press conference. Said something about Karl not getting the job done or something, and that's why the republicans lost.
