The thesaurus feature on my computer has had a workout since I started writing articles and books about this government, George, Casey, etc. There are only so many words to use. I have searched for synonyms to: sorrow, disaster, death, murder, crimes, maniac, profit, illegal, immoral, evil, innocent, corrupt…so often that it seems that these same words get used over and over again. I am running out of words to describe the miscreants in DC and the hideous occupation of Iraq.
It seems to me that BushCo is getting a little testy and a lot defensive about their profitable antics in the Middle East. In recent days, George, Darth Cheney and Rumbo have all displayed their hubris and disdain for America in their unjustifiable support of their crimes for the benefit of a very chosen few. Indeed, Darth practically salivated all over himself thinking about water boarding human beings. I almost wrote “fellow” human beings, but applying that definition to Darth Cheney would be stretching the meaning of the word and being too kind to someone who has been the insidious Edgar Bergen to George’s Mortimer Snerd.
The illegitimate pretenders to the White House have defiled it almost beyond repair and have sullied America’s already tainted image around the globe to unprecedented heights. The people whom we never elected in the first place think that we are as delusional and disconnected as they are. When George says that we are “winning” the war in Iraq, what does he mean? That we have killed over 2000 times more people than they have and have decimated a country that was already reduced to sub-humanity by the devastating US-UN sanctions of the ‘90’s. When George says that his administration has never been about “staying the course,” are we supposed to just jettison our memory banks to outer space, blankly smile, go shopping and pretend that everything is okay?
Nothing is okay. In fact, everything is dangerously not okay.
If there ever was a moment in time for non-violent civil disobedience, it is now! The present is frightening enough, but when I think of the world that the neocon fascists are willfully and gleefully creating for our children and grandchildren, I am sick to my stomach.

We need 5000 folks to SURROUND the White House. Think about it, 100 from every state. Now thats representation. Can you be there? As Cindy said...be a part of history.
Nov. 6th Day of Action
7:00 am: Vienna, VA Metro stop – George Allen will be doing a Get Out the Vote rally. And so will we with Cindy Sheehan, Dede Miller, Tiffany Burns and others. We’ll show up to engage commuters, get peace pledges, flyer and banner. 2900 Nutley St., Fairfax, VA.
10am-6pm White House vigil. We will be reading the names of the Iraq war casualties via bullhorn to the White House, making reminder calls to get out the vote and
7pm-8:30pm-candlelight vigil at the Vietnam memorial.
Nov. 7th in Layfayette Park. We will be making calls to get out the vote today. We will be monitoring the election results. More events being planned. Speakers, etc.Organizing exit poll teams.
On the evening of November 7, citizens will turn Lafayette Square Park, in front of the White House into a Blue Revolution, one of many events around the country. Crowds dressed in blue will be holding vigils outside election offices to demand an accurate counting of votes in at least these locations: AZ-Maricopa, AZ-Yavapai, CA-Kern, CA-Orange, CA-Santa Barbara, CA-San Luis Obispo, CO-Adams, DC-District of Columbia, IN-La Porte, IN-Lake, IN-Porter, MD-Baltimore, MD-Howard, MN-Waseca, MO-St. Louis, OR-Washington, NY-Onondaga, TX-Lamar, WA-Clark, WA-King.
Nov. 8th Layfayette Park. Did the Dems take back the house? Did they get the
Senate? Or are the Republicans still in power? Either way we still have a war to end. We must raise our voices on this day to those in congress to let them know that we will not be ignored any longer. Special events and actions being planned.
*We will be delivering the Don't Attack Iran petition to the White House. At 11:00 a.m. on November 8, Sheehan will lead the delivery to the White House of huge stacks of signatures and comments from the 75,000 Americans who have signed a petition opposing an attack on Iran. Sheehan and others are prepared to risk arrest if the White House will not accept the petition.
Nov. 9th Actions in solidarity with Military Families at the Pentagon amongst other actions. |
