The Freepers are falling apart!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-backroom/1734623/posts

This is great, they are fighting about why they lost, calling each others "crybabies" and "retards."

Here are some of my favorite parts.

" "Libertarians" and Republicans who didn’t vote; YOU ARE TRAITORS to that country and your so called conservative values. It’s that simple. And you just handed America to the Modern American Socialist party. Good job. Well done. GO TO H**L!!! "

"have some cheese and grow up. "

"One thing is certain, you're no Christian."

Folks, it just keeps getting better and better.

9. It's embarrassing.....
"I voted Republican in an important and close race, but lost. So be it.
The fact is the Republicans didn't deserve to win. The Democrats didn't beat them, they beat themselves. While they spent like teenagers with daddy's credit card, and ignored their base, the Democrats took control by running pro-life, pro-gun, anti-tax candidates. The Republicans gave small government lip service, and then acted like Democrats, so it's no wonder the Democrats figured out that two can play at that game, and that they are just as good at lying to the public as Republicans.

If the Republicans want control back, they had damned well better start walking the walk, and not just talking the talk.

They deserved to lose.

They squandered their chance.

15. In perspective, if the results were the opposite
we would not be eating our own like they are, but we would have also been extremely demoralized, and they would have been 100 fold more cruel

That is why our votes are so important.

Never believe as in 2000 that there is no difference between the two parties, there is a real difference, and you voice does count

At least with the Democratic party we can work through our differences, with the rove/atwood scorch policy of personal destruction, there is no room for compromise

Thank goodness we won

21. The difference being that they STILL control the Executive Branch
And most of the Judicial, and have enough of the Senate to block impeachment and to fillibuster. So, they can whine all they want, but the reality is that they still control way, way too much power and it is going to be a hell of a fight just to get any progressive action. But it is a start!

25. Congress can control quite a lot. They can veto all they want
but that will just make their position much weaker in 2008

Pelosi and the Democrats are putting out the olive branch, and in my view that is the correct approach

Revenge is the easy way out, and only feels good short term, long term we will become victums of it, just like the republicans we defeated

31. Pelosi and the rest of the House have to be careful
They are doing the right thing. There will be an organized campaign by the WH to label them as "obstructionists" and "do nothing". We have to be careful to make sure that we propose well justified, reasonable changes and at the same time keep W and company busy with a lot of justified investigations. No more Lazy, no nothing Republican congress, that is for sure. Pelosi will be fighting against a strong headwind of Repuke dirty tricks and amplified MSM propaganda.

All I meant by my last comment was, if we had lost WE really would have been up S**t creek, as W would have continued to take any majority, even 1 vote extra in Congress, as a "mandate" to do even more extremist crap. The power structure hasn't totally flipped just because we have the House now. This election means that unlimited excutive power is over. At least for now.

Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 05:03 PM by SemperEadem
Many were disillusioned... but many more said that the fight had just started. And they were right. They hunkered down and kept their noses to the grindstone and didn't let 2004 take the wind out of their sails. Now, 2 years later, their belief and hard work has brought well deserved results.

The Thugs were handed their asses today... deservedly so. Their followers at freakrepublic sure didn't exercise civility when their boys/girls won... they just didn't think that they would take off with the budget 'credit card' and go on a spending spree... see, they thought they were invited to the party, too---when all there were was the help; in Ron Regan's words "picking the shrimp shells out of the carpet after the party was done". Hey freaks--you missed a shell.

20. Talk about c-l-u-e-l-e-s-s
The people of Missouri especially should be ashamed of themselves too. I mean, how stupid are the people of Missouri that didn’t vote for Talent and against Amendment 2??? Five minutes of research would expose the fact that that Amendment is a CLONING AMENDMENT and that stem cell research, INCLUDING EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH IS ALREADY LEGAL IN MISSOURI!!! Just not TAX PAYER FUNDED embryonic stem cell research. It would also expose that McCaskell is a lying manipulative deceitful wicked woman who did ANYTHING to get elected, even use people like Michael Fox, who didn’t mind lying through his teeth, to get what he wants. If a cure for Parkinson’s is found, it will not be from embryonic/fetal stem cell research, no matter HOW MANY billions of dollars are poured into it. That’s a fact. Pure and simple. http://www.angelfire.com/blog/stemcells . "Show Me" State my butt!!! Can’t show someone something when their f*****g eyes are closed!!!

Pretty much anyone hanging out here who is gay and was here in 2004 will tell you how much fun it was to not only have lost the election, but to have been spit on by 2/3 of our neighbors (those of us in a marriage discrimination amendment state, anyway), then to come here for solace only to be berated for having not been patient enough to wait for our turn at the table of equal rights.

That's why there was so much heat when the N.J. marriage decision came out a couple of weeks ago. The feeling of safety many of us felt here pre-2000 has not yet been restored much beyond the superficial level on this issue. (In case you missed it, here is a piece of the aftermath: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2649923 )

train wreck.

Another of my favorites:

"Our only saving grace is that now the nation will see what gridlock hell looks like. I wonder if the libs will vote to do away with the DHS before or after our next terror hit."

Has this guy ever paid attention? Has he heard of the government shutdown in 1995, because of the Republican gridlock? And someone needs to quick tell him that DHS was the DEMS idea, which Bush was against, until he was for it.
