I would like to thank Jim Pederson, Harold Ford and Ned Lamont |
|
Those guys fought hard in three extremely uphill battles. The dirt in those races got pretty ugly but they all conducted themselves well. Each had a pretty solid shot to win at certain points in their races, and that alone is a helluva accomplishment considering the odds they faced.
They fought hard and lost on a night when everthing else went Dems way. Still, they did us proud and I hope they keep on fighting.

1. I hope they all try again. We'll still be here when and if they do. |

2. yes, Ford and Lamont are pretty young guys |
|
and Pederson would have a helluva short to be governor four years from now when Napolitano is term limited. So I hope they do too.

3. Hear, hear! And largely BECAUSE of Jim Pederson, JD Hayworth |
|
WILL GO DOWN.
As AZ state chair, Pederson laid the groundwork.

4. Here in TN, Ford ran an outstanding campaign. It's our loss (and the |
|
entire country's loss) that we won't have him in the Senate.
I certainly hope he does run again.
And I don't agree with him on everything, but he's really, really smart ("wicked smart") and is the kind of person who can help govern this country and help fix our foreign relations.

I agree with your post. Though I don't agree with Harold on everything, I still think he will make a good senator and will represent TN well in DC someday.

8. Pederson and Ford forced the GOP to spend resources defending those seats |
|
Which is what made it possible for us to win the ones that we did. And after Schlessinger failed to get GOP support, Lieberman built a coalition that Lamont simply couldn't beat. Lamont changed the debate, though, and I think that we will see the Democrats taking a tougher stance on Iraq thanks in part to him.
