Why is Terry McAuliffe acting like he had a part of this victory? |
|
He didn't do shit but he has been out there shoveling in the glory and acting like he had a hand in it.

1. he's probably happy just like the rest of us. |
|
He knows a lot of the people who benefitted also, no harm in that.

4. I have never understood why he got trashed so much... |
|
I always saw him on television as being far more effective enunciating the Dem position *and* tearing theirs down. In fact, even though substantively Dean is dead on TV, he is not as smooth or as ruthless as Terry is.

5. It's not about how he looks on TV |
|
It's about winning elections. And he could just never get the hang of that.

8. Not looks, but the effective push back... |
|
that is so badly needed in the conversations on TV. The ease with which Terry swats them down and, sometimes pretty hard, is really necessary for these times.
How does the party chair (alone) influence winning, when the candidates were not half as good as him at articulating sane positions, when the media infrastructure was abyssmal (prior to the blogosphere) and fellow (elected) Dems were complicit in media/Rethug Dem demonization by their deafening silence (Gore-Internet/Kerry-Swiftboat)?
Not to put a damper on the wins this early in the game, but the rethugs have been exposed for the frauds they are (economically, spiritually, morally and security-wise) and an entire supportive media on the Internets, have still given us only sliver-thin victories...Imagine the climes of Terry times...

His job was to win elections. He was completely incompetent.

11. Exactly - he passed on 2002 and 2004 and did NO infrastructure work during that time |
|
he was charged to do it. He became DC centric with fundraising and buying a building there for HQ, but completely ignored the four years of state by state infrastructure building and repairing in the states where they had been left to collapse since 1997.

McAuliffe sucked at his job and lost elections for Democrats. Dean, however, has proven he can win elections and win BIG.

6. Supposedly going to run Hillary's campaign??? |
|
That was in the paper, but then denied, a couple of weeks ago. He started showing up on tv shortly after. I don't know if he's supposed to be a Clinton alternative to Dean, or just a face the Clintons prefer. He helped Hillary raise money, so I imagine he thinks he did have a hand in it for that reason.

10. Truth Be Told, He's Done A Great Job Representing Us After This Victory. |
|
I was quite pleased to see him on TV so much today. He's been doing an absolutely awesome job speaking on our behalf. Not sure what your problem with him is, but to each their own.

13. My problem is that he reminds the public of his crappy campaigns |
|
He should stay out of the limelight.
