Alright, what's with all the newbies who are "conservative...but"...
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 05:23 PM by VelmaD
Seems like there are a lot of them around today. Conservative but just looking to hear both sides. Or conservative but tired of the bickering. Or conservative but no longer a fan of Georgie. Or conservative but think we should all hold hands and sing Kumba Ya now that they've LOST.

I just have one question for all of them...where was this great desire for cooperation and playing nice even just a week ago when your pretzeldent was saying that a win for the Dems was a win for the terrorists? Where was it when it was your party that held every rein of power in the government? Huh?

1. go girl, keep channeling our dear Ann Richards!
and her famous Where Was George speech!!!

3. Some may be genuine. I sure would like to see a less divided America.
I would like to see a media that doesn't play us one against the other for ratings. I would like to see us work together for the common good. If that's why some newbies are coming here, I welcome them.

6. Maybe it's me...
but Ive just seen one too many instance where republican calls to "work together" really just meant "do what we say".

5. It's like on The Simpsons when Kent Brockman
already succumbed to the alien ant invaders. People just jump on over to the winning side, regardless. Not much for scruples when the going gets tough.

Yeah, I'm angry. I'm in Texas and the "blue tsunami" passed us completely by yesterday. I am still stuck in a state where EVERY state-wide office is held by republicans. There is no call to bi-partisanship from the rethugs in Texas today. We still have the unadulterated variety.

So forgive me if I'm not interested in the recent converts. I know what they'd be like today if they had won. I'm living it.

To quote Will Pitt...anger is a gift.

15. I thought that's what Rush said that their side had taken over our side
Of course it doesn't make any sense. Coming from Rush why would it? I think he's saying those Repubs who abandoned the right to vote left were stealth Repubs planning to steal our party as part of their masterplan to defeat us. You're right it makes no sense. But it would explain all the "I'm conservative but I've joined you guys now" posts...

16. When Repukes are in control ...
it's always "my way or the highway."

When Democrats are in control, it's always "let's work together."

Makes me ill. Fight, Democrats! Stand up for me, please! Stand with the base. No "playing nice" with conservatives!
