1. Call me psychic...
This thought or premonition struck me this afternoon...

I forsee Darth Cheney bugging out for health or more likely legal reasons, and leaving Bush with Nancy Pelosi to deal with as VP. Wouldn't that be a hoot!

2. It's not that simple.
If the VP goes away, the president gets to nominate a new one.

5. Regarding That....
Does the House & Senate vote on the replacement? Does it require a 2/3rds vote?

Or is there an actual emergency election?

9. It's a confirmation vote in the Senate
Like a cabinet position.

7. If they are impeached in the same trial,
then the Speaker of the House gets the job. If they are impeached in seperate trials, then whoever is left behind first gets to nominate a new VP.

10. Huh?
That's not what happened to Ford. Spiro Agnew quit. Nixon nominated a new VP (Ford). The VP was approved. Nixon quit. Ford took over.

16. He should be right below the Secretary of Defense
under the recently adopted law.

Or, he may be under the Attorney General, not certain.

18. Can we keep it from passing
before we take over? DHS belongs in its proper place: the bottom of the list.
