Okay -- I'm craving Dejected Republican Co-worker anecdotes. Got any? |
|
I don't work in a regular office, so I need to live vicariously. Please, anyone have any good stories of Rethug depression and angst? Thank you! :hi:

"We just didn't vote. It was the corruption." Translation: (in Pee Wee Herman voice) "We meant to do that."

2. Our lonely Republican... |
|
...said he "didn't want to talk about it."
I reassured him that we wouldn't take away ALL of his guns, and in time he would come to embrace the homosexual agenda. That one almost got my ass kicked!
He was walking around pretty grumpy today! Just the way we like it...

3. It's awfully quiet in my office today |
|
I wanted to do the happy dance when I got here this morning, but thought better of it when I saw my supervisor's glum face. She IS, after all, the SUPERVISOR. Damn! Good thing I could sneak onto DU and do the virtual happy dance with you guys. Otherwise, I would have 'sploded! :bounce: Thanks, DU!

5. One of my colleagues came in to announce he was glad the |
|
rotten republicans were thrown out of office (he thinks he's parroting the librul media).
I reminded him that his party of morals and family values had trouble standing yesterday since they covered up the behvaior of a pedophile, think it's OK to torture people, and think the Constitution is a quaint document.
This was at 9:45 this morning. He left at 4:30 without saying another word to me - of course I told him to be a gracious loser as he stormed out of my door.
The other three or four nutters in the office pretty much kept to themselves - which was OK by me.

8. I ventured into the yuppie part of town today |
|
to explore a new shopping center under construction (Williams Sonoma was open and I did want to look). I could tell who the Freeps were, they looked incredibly sour. Even though we don't yet know if we've gotten rid of Heather Wilson (R-COW), I noticed quite a few working folks with a new spring in their steps.
This is the first time I've noticed any hope out there since 1994.

we were walking on egg shells, here in the reddest of all states |
|
and said only: "I hope that this will end some of the division we've had in the country the last few years." To which the GOPer said: "Division? What are you talking about? I never felt more division than I did during Clinton."
I would have loved to follow up but I decided to drop it. Someday I'd love to know what he meant. Was it the adultry? Did he not care that Newt who was leading the impeachment fight (early on) was having an affair and served his wife with divorce papers while she was in the hospital with cancer? Was it they lying? Like Bush didn't lie about anything? What was it that made him feel the country was more divided then...and in a bad way.
Note, this man is the nicest man you'd ever want to meet...until you work with him for awhile. Then you learn its all an act, albeit one he has perfected. He had the office eating out of his hand thinking his shit didn't stink until I pointed out how stupid and dishonest he was (in the most professional way) over the years. He still fools his fellow GOPers but not many of the rest of us.

16. Your last paragraph says much |
|
So many "successful" managers and others in positions of authority, I have found to be spiteful, vindictive, corrupt egomaniacs who maintain an outward congeniality to cover their true selves. I guess that's what it takes to succeed incorporate America.

today looked like he lost his best friend - boo hoo! He and I have an unspoken agreement since '04 not to talk politics, but BOY it was hard today not to LAUGH in his face.

12. She's still got her Bush/Cheney sticker on her Volvo SUV, |
|
though to be fair she tried, unsuccessfully, to rip it off around a year ago. Anyway, I'm in a state of ecstasy this morning, high fiving and hugging all my lefty friends at work. Everyone is in a really upbeat mood, and there's alot of happy commotion, when she walks in the office. She says what are we celebrating? and my co-worker, not knowing her as well as I do, said " We won, the Democrats won!" and she harrumphes and mutters "Yea, and now they're going to raise your taxes." After everything Bush has put us through, taxes are her worst nightmare? It's mind boggling. She was grumpy the rest of the day, but we definitely continued to enjoy the events of the day.

15. You should have said "I didn't know you made more than $500K a year" |
|
Actually, not sure if the number was $300K or $500 K, but the dems said that they will not raise taxes on anything less than that.

the office repukes that I am aware of.
Alas, our depth-free repuke governor faced only token Dem opposition and cruised to victory. So Repuke #2 responds with: "Linda! Linda! Linda! Six more years!"
Repuke #1 joined me in reminding him that it was only four... :dunce:
edit: still only one 'r' in repuke
