Sit Down for Change---Stand Up for Peace, Day 2

Democracy Wins----George and his abominable policies and the Repugs Lose!

Technically George was not up for re-election today, but realistically, he lost big time! This election was a referendum on his war of terror and his war lost. Time to change your course, George....

Today in the pouring rain, we read the names of the 2835 killed soldiers in Iraq from a bull-horn that was pointed at the White House. We were calling them out loud and clear for George to hear the names of the people that he has killed in his war of terror.

Tonight I am so gratified that Americans have seemingly gone out in record numbers to vote for change. Our young heroes have been honored and our soldiers who are sacrificing and the people of Iraq have a measure of hope that the immoral occupation is closer to ending.

Tomorrow (Nov. 8th) we will be trying to deliver a petition to the White House with over 75,000 signatures on it to insist that the maniacal neocons not attack Iran. We tried to deliver the same petition with 40,000 signatures on it last May, but the officers at the gate wouldn't take it, so we threw it over the fence. We have almost twice as many signatures now, so I hope they take the petition, or it will make a bigger mess on the White House driveway.

After we deliver the petition...to the guard house, or to the driveway, we will begin to read the names of the fallen again and we will read them over and over for a 24 hour vigil.

Now that the repugs have lost the House, it is time for the real work to begin.

Democracy does not just happen on election day, but true democracy happens between elections.

Rep. Pelosi and the other Democratic leaders need to put impeachment on the table and we need to get our reps to push HR4232 to cut the funding for the war.

I feel so pleased that we are making huge steps towards peace and hopefully, soon, I will be able to rest a little.

Please join us for our celebration of democracy and to honor our fallen heroes tomorrow in front of the White House.

We have experienced laughter, tears, joy, anger, relief, sweetness and companionship. Here we have vets, military families, Gold Star Families, many members of our Camp Casey family, and other warriors for peace. The only thing missing is you.
