No impeachment, just investigations...
Made public in about 2 years, just before the '08 election.

Toast.

3. George is a figurehead...
It's all the little sharks swimming in that festering cesspool we need to drag out onto the shore.

Part one of my agenda.

4. Oh, don't get me wrong...
There will be leaks here and there during the investigation. Though the committee will condemn that, of course, it's inevitable.

If not this way, there isn't much chance of a Dem winning the presidency since voters will be way suspicious of one party in control of all.

6. I agree...
We have to set out to dismantle the Republican Party--to show its corruption to the people. If we do that, the only way it can save itself is by reinventing itself, by turning its back on the whole neo-con movement and working to restore itself in the public eye.

And that'll take some time.

7. Yes, some time...
Like about 2 years, with leaks, and a final scathing report. We know the corruption and - there's no better way to say it - and the anti-democratic deception is there. These guys don't and didn't respect the Bill of Rights that much.

What could be more important? Or more scathing? Or more anti-American

10. Two years sounds just about right...
Put out the report right before Halloween of 08?

Perfect.

9. But George has the power to bop the sharks and stop them
from their feeding frenzy, yet up until now he hasn't, so he's as guilty as they are.

11. Yeah, but in the scheme of things he's not important.
We do NOT want to let them make him the scapegoat. We want to indict their whole ideology--not just one man.

14. I agree but he still needs to be accountable and brought to justice
with the rest of them. I'm not giving Rummy a free pass either.

If this had been done during the Nixon administration and during Iran Contra we wouldn't have these criminals running around free, infiltrating our government again in later administrations and committing the same transgressions.

As long as they know they can get away with their crimes they won't stop committing them and we won't put a stop to this culture of corruption.

16. That's what I want to avoid this time...
The free pass to all the others who resurfaced in this administration.

Bush is on the list, as are his cronies attached to the WH. But reforming Congress should be our goal, first and foremost. By doing that, we can bring to light the evidence to present to the public that will make impeachment as important to them as it is to us.

5. I'll be happy with investigations.
Lots and lots and lots of investigations. We should have plenty of entertainment for the next two years.

12. Yes impeach! And make Pelosi the President!
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 07:51 PM by blurp
Is there any doubt that Bush/Chaney could not survive investigations?

Oh sure. They'd never actually be found guilty by the Senate. But then again, Nixon wasn't either. If Bush/Chaney were forced to resign, we get ourselves the first woman Democrat president!

I say investigate and impeach.

13. No consequences? What is the message in that?
More of the same-- "continue with Iran/Contra and other war crimes, it's OK, you won't pay any more price than slight embarrassment"?

Is that really what you want?

15. Hear, hear!
Down with the whole culture of corruption, I say. Make them examples to any wannabe criminals, who might want to take up politics for plunder, to go seek their fortunes elsewhere.

17. Keep George. Then we can use the same strategy in two years...
and increase our leads in the Senate.
