OBAMA is NOT supporting filibuster? What the heck?
Because we might lose, he won't support one?

What a complete disappointment.

2. He JUST SAID on THIS WEEK that he WILL support the filibuster.

Please change your headline.

I'm watching the show right now. He will vote NO on cloture.

5. Chicago radio is reporting that he will not.
Someone quoted him last night as saying because it cannot succeed, he will not support it.

The headline is a question, not a comment. There is conflicting news. I guess we won't know until he actually acts. But, given his support of the criminal Daley clan in Chicago, and his refusal to call for cleaning politics locally, I have a bad feeling about where he will actually go on this issue.

6. He was saying he would vote NO on cloture just NOW on ABC
So I assume he will vote like that.

This said, he made clear he disapproved and also said that he worked on a bi-partisan effort for cleaning Illinois's ethics and that it was passed. I guess from your comments you would disagree with him.

12. he had plenty of opportunity to say something about local corruption
he waffled more than a piece of overcooked linguini. And showed about as much spine. Unfortunately, that behavior persists in his senate activities.

He is becoming a major disappointment. He refuses to take hard stances. Everything is nuanced in a way to maintain his pretty boy appearance, without risking upsetting anyone. Well, that path leads to pissing off everybody.

Yes, when a majority of senators have taken a stance, and it suits him to join them, he speaks beautifully, convincingly, and eliquently. But only and always on safe issues, or ones that won't upset the apple cart.

At least Durbin has the balls to say lobbying reform won't work unless campaign reform goes hand in hand. He is doing a much better job, on much harder issues.
Pinning Obama down is like stapling a bowl of jelly to the ceiling, without the bowl.

7. Strange. I heard him say he will but he wasn't exactly perky about
it so I can see where the confusion could come from but he did say he would support the filibuster.

10. OH THANK G-D!!! I was so PISSED OFF last night when I heard
he wasn't supporting it and immediately tried calling his offices, HE DID HIS OWN VOICE MESSAGES...pretty kewl, eh?...no voice mail :(....and ended up emailing him a not-so-nice letter.:) I'm SO happy he's come around.

I get the feeling the Democrats are playing a game. They really do have the support for this and just don't want the repukes to know it.:) That's JMCPO. ;)

3. He said he will
However, he was far from supportive and expressed himself in such a way that it looked as if he was not. Not sure who he was blasting exactly, but it does not help,

8. Let's just bloody wait and see
before we jump to any conclusions and crucify Obama. Until a major source overturns his stated support for the filibuster, it's utterly foolish to pan him for something that may not be true.

11. He's been way too cautious in things he's been saying. He is new and
he probably doesn't want to burn out his "rising star" status. Still, I'd be happier if he made a strong stand.

13. he did NOT say clearly that he supports the filbuster.
He weaseled around the question and talked
"bipartisan" and "our real job is to educate the public."

What an utter disappointment.
