Cindy Sheehan arrested in Washington
Activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested Wednesday as she led about 50 protesters to a White House gate Wednesday to deliver anti-war petitions she said were signed by 80,000 Americans.

The Berkeley, Calif., woman, whose son was killed in Iraq more than two years ago, was arrested along with three other women on the sidewalk outside the White House gate, said Lt. Scott Fear, a U.S. Park Police spokesman. They were charged with interfering with a government function, he said.

Before she was arrested, she joined the protesters in hailing the outcome of Tuesday's elections and chanting "Stop the War" outside the gate.

"It was taking too long for them to decide whether to accept them or not, so we just delivered them," said Sheehan, who waited about 15 minutes with other protesters before tossing the petitions over the fence.

The petitions opposed use of military force to resolve the dispute over Iran's nuclear program.

2. "Interfering with a government function"?
That is the reason why they have the fucking gates in the first place. To prevent people from interfering with a government function.

I can't see that charge sticking.

11. Not accepting tens of thousands of signature
that are protesting a major policy is "interfering in government function." They've got this one backwards.

4. Can we level that same charge at the Republicans?
"Interfering with the function of Government?"

Or is that contextually incorrect?

heh-heh.

7. LMAO @ Cindy's comment
"It was taking too long for them to decide whether to accept them or not, so we just delivered them," said Sheehan, who waited about 15 minutes with other protesters before tossing the petitions over the fence.

13. Maybe we should draft her here in California to run for
governor. I can see her kicking ass. It's too bad we didn't put her up against Arnold in this election.

21. We tried to get her to run against Feinstein. Feinstein had a meltdown
Literally.

Barbara Boxer was brought in to convince Cindy not to run. Absolutely ridiculous and wrong.

Feinstein, one of the ruling class who plays a Democrat on television, needs to be gone from government like so many others who are using their government positions, not to help the citizens, but to take more from us. Individuals like Feinstein are not interested in doing the rigfht thing as much as they are helping themselves AND their war profiteering husbands to a smorgasboard of monetary opportunities and power grabs.

And we the citizen pay for it.

All of it.

It is time for them to go.

16. Just another reminder that we have a lot of work ahead!
We can't sit on our tuckuses and hope our officials will do what we want them to through a telepathic mind link. We need to constantly be out there, be loud, and be on-target. End the war. Fix the election process. Equality for all Americans. If we leave them alone they will turn into Republicans. It's up to us to keep the heat on to fix this country.
