I smell a little more freedom in the air today
I went to visit my Dad in the hospital, he had surgery.

My step-mom is a Fundie, so we usually don't get a chance to talk politics. She wasn't there today, so I was gushing about our wins, and got him up to date on a lot of stuff.

Then I remembered that Bush was holding a presser at 1:00, and it was a few minutes past. He said, "why would he do that? To explain why they lost?"

Me, "Well, let's see."

We turned it on to catch the end of the Rummy is resigning bit, and the Q&A began.

A nurse, and a Physical Therapist came in to do their jobs during this, and OPENLY said things like, "he is such an idiot." and "I can't stand that man" without us commenting first.

I have NEVER heard strangers just jump into politics like that without "testing the waters" first. I felt like we had all removed our masks and could be ourselves, without having to fear the right-leaning bullies whose main purpose in life is to shout us down and question our loyalties.

It was nice.
