How does MAJORITY LEADER CLINTON sound to you?
supposedly there's a deal being cut to make Hillary the Majority Leader if she forgoes a 2008 run.

20. Actually, I think she'd be an excellent Senate Majority Leader.
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 11:02 PM by SharonAnn
She really knows the institution, its rules, the people, its history, and its appropriate roles in oversight and "advise and consent".

She would be a great asset on legislation. She know what it takes to get things done by getting all the necessary votes together.

3. That's a rumor that is probably not going to happen. I think Reid
won't give up his post.

4. Fuck no
I don't want her running for President, but I don't want to have to compensate her ego with a position that Reid deserves and has worked hard for.

5. I would love that.
It would open the door for some great other candidates who have been in Hillary's shadow for years.

7. Yeah, I think that's an old rumor that Reid said wasn't true.
There was speculation by some pundits that it would be a good way to groom her and to get the nation ready for her as president.

10. Pretty fucking scary. I want to maintain majority status not lose it after 2 yrs.
Clinton is bad. She can't be let near anything important. She is too polarizing and just the mention of her name brings in cash to Republican campaign coffers.

15. Um, you don't think they'll demonize Pelosi
to raise money for the GOP? They can turn anyone we have into a bogeyman. That's what they do.

16. They tried that with Pelosi already. It didn't seem to stick.
At least with everyone who wasn't way off to the right in wingnut territory.

12. No, Chairwoman of some Committee would work better.

Let her work her way up. She's good with money, she could do the Appropriations Comm.

Alas, reality is that Reid will probably do a credible job, especially now that he has more breakthing room and a 51-seat **MANDATE**.
