Hey DUers,
Between thinking about kephra, nostamj, and Andy, and thinking about the unanimous welcome in my neighborhood last week when I was distributing Webb literature here in Danville, and the late-breaking news about Webb's victory, I'm reduced to a crying binge the likes of which I've never experienced before.
It's as if a dam broke and six years of worrying that my fellow Americans were totally deluded by propaganda and there was no justice in the universe has just EXPLODED in tears. Reckon that some of you are experiencing the same phenomenon, so am posting about GUT-WRENCHING SOBS.

I've had an ear to ear grin on all day though. I can't stop smiling.

and I cannot help saying this...
by your post, I thought you were talking about what you were hearing from Repubs with this announcement.
Not disrespecting those mentioned, I am just a freak sometimes....and I think they would have found the same humor too that I did for just a brief moment

7. I have to believe they know somehow and are celebrating with us. |
|
They surely must feel our gratitude and sense our overwhelming joy at the vindication of our efforts.

In every battle, good warriors fall. It's up to us to see that when, around the fires, tales of these times are told, that the names of these warriors are not forgotten.
Even though they never hurt a soul, they were still warriors. Being a warrior does not necessarily have anything to do with bring harm.

I got into a heated discussion with a fellow manager who is really out of touch with his employees. I know he's a hard core repub, as well. (my personal, not shared with others, nickname for him is the "Grinch")
All of a sudden, I became tearful and two of my employees saw me cry, which has never happened, ever.
I just couldn't handle his "I've got mine, screw you" attitude anymore.
My two employees, who witnessed this, were so sympathetic and understanding. I was shocked that I became tearful, which is very unusual for me.
It was probably the dam breaking. I think we all have a lot of pent up emotion ready to come forth. MKJ
edited to add: When I joined, I missed Andy's impact, except for the drive to help with his medical bills.
kephra(keeping LBN honest) and nostamj(cartoon collector extraordinaire) were much more on my radar. All three gave us so much.
Three wonderful people, who didn't have the opportunity to share this.

13. Here is What Happened With Me |
|
I was thrilled when we did so well in the election, but Rumsfeld resigning is what *really* made me happy. I was at work & looked up at a TV because I wondered if the Senate had been completely settled yet. When I saw that Rumsfeld had resigned, a big grin broke out on my face. I hadn't seen it coming, since Bush's people are usually so annoyingly stubborn. Then, I saw a guy who hates the Bush admin as much as I do. We did a high-five. Later I went off in private by myself, jumped up & down & cheered. I haven't really cried yet. I guess I am still somewhat in shock, but this time it's a *good* shock. :bounce: :headbang:

15. Totally in shock here. Most poignant moment for me, though, |
|
was seeing Colbert and Darryl Hall sing the National Anthem tonight.
And on a more serious note, talking to a friend about Webb's campaign from the perspective of a Marine / Vietnam vet.

It took a while to realize, but my crying jag was a delayed expression of grief over the election theft of Bush v. Gore. As long as I feared that every election from now on was going to be stolen, that grief was bottled up, but when the R stranglehold on power was broken it came bursting forth.
Feeling fine now!
