Biden to vote for Filibuster on ONE ROUND |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-29-06 11:48 AM by Armstead
He said he'd vote No on cloture for the first round, but then criticized the filibuster effort and imnplied that he'd vote for cloture on the second round.
And these people wonder why they keep losing?

2. Is this a beauty contest to him? |
|
Someone needs to tell him that either he has to flip off MBNA, or he's in effect flipping off us!

5. Biden needs a serious evaluation |
|
He just might be the first multiple personality to ever serve in the Senate. He reminds me of the little girl, with the little curl.
There was a girl with a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead, and when she was good, she was very, very good, and when she was bad she was horrid.
Pick a side and stand there Biden. And what ever you do, leave your ball cap at home.

... very nicely put, Sydnie. That's how I feel about Biden too. I do not agree with many comments here that he is completely horrible and worthless. I think he can be excellent at times, and definitely very smart, a comment that I cannot make about all senators, though you would expect it to be a necessary minimum requirement for the job. In any case, seems like today Biden was twirling his imaginary curl (which I am sure he wishes were for real), not knowing which side to turn it.

7. could be wishful thinking, but I see a strategy on filibuster emerging: |
|
speak softly and deliver a sucker punch.
instead of talking big ahead of time, they might wait and deliver the goods.
When both Biden AND Lieberman say they are going to support the filibuster in any way, that means it's damn near a lock--those two are practically republicans, but they are on board.

8. I would love to see a sucker punch |

But I also hope it's us delivering it to the GOP, and not to us.

13. it wouldn't be a sucker punch from GOP since they've hit us so many times |
|
and Alito is a pretty obvious wind up to a punch.

18. How come democrats.com doesn't have hm on their list? |
|
I am amazed if he actually goes along with this. I still won't be able to forgive him his past transgressions (and I am a very forgiving person most of the time), but his smooch with blivet** was beyond the pale for me. I want to see him gone from that office.

Maybe I am wrong?
I thought I read on here the other day that he was going along with the filibuster--but if democrats.com doesn't have him on their list maybe it's not a done deal!

NOTE TO JOE BIDEN: You may have a nice view from your perch but it doesn't get you anywhere. You have to get off your ass if you want to be anything more than a parrot.

15. I am actually surprised he'll do THAT much! |
|
I am not a fan of Biden (about as fond of him as I am Lieberman as they both seem to be two little DINOS in a pod that like to hear themselves talk out of both sides of their mouths endlessly)
Quite frankly I am surprised he'll even cooperate for the one round...
Hey--At least he was persuaded into this much (I don't think the man wanted to do this, he was shamed into it by all the complaints from the people!)
