We really need to get to work and come up with some solutions to lowering CO2 emissions, right away! We need to come up with alternative energy sources and regain our place as the world leader in science and invest in creative ideas we can eventually sell to the rest of the world!

Even the Economist, which is a rather right-leaning magazine, has been pressing this issue in the last several months. Their basic argument is that even one takes the position of American conservatives who say that scientists are exagerrating the problem, it would be irresponsible not to hedge against the risk that the scientific community might really be right.
